Plugable’s mission is to deliver great technology products with amazing customer support to back them up. If you’ve ever contacted customer support for a product, only to find they can’t help, you know how bad the status quo is. That’s *not* us. We love our customers, we love our products, and we’re not afraid to break new ground to deliver better customer support.

We provide support primarily online and via email so fast, fluid writing skills are essential. Each case is an opportunity to document the problem and solution, so future customers can find answers more quickly. We don’t provide a support phone number, but we do call customers back from time to time.

What We’re Looking For

You must be comfortable working in a mix of Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android environments. You should be familiar with the common problems that can go wrong with USB, Bluetooth, and network devices – and how to configure the devices and debug problems in the different operating systems. In short, we’re looking for serious tech lovers and customer support professionals. If you have no troubleshooting, technical writing, customer service, testing, and/or debugging experience, please don’t apply.

Opportunities for Growth

Our philosophy is to unify work on product specification, documentation, and support — so when customers ask questions, they’re getting answers direct from the experts on the product. Over time, you will be expected to grow into a Product Owner role, responsible for full life-cycle ownership of your products, including:

  • New product concept research
  • Prototype testing
  • Supplier engagement
  • Content management for product launch material
  • Product listing maintenance
  • And of course, expert customer support

A typical day is 4-6 hours of customer support (tickets), and the remainder is longer-term work on the products themselves (videos, blog posts, documentation, etc). We mix it up so there’s constantly an opportunity to do interesting new things every day. All our employees work out of our Redmond, WA office. We’re a 24/7 company, so we’re flexible, and ability to work a schedule shifted from the normal 9 to 5 is a plus.
